Based on the observation that Avidin’s Ac-201 has anti-bacterial effects against M. avis, the model organism of M. tuberculosis, in early 2008 the company made an agreement with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (“NIAID” 6700B Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, Maryland 20892, USA) to develop and test novel anti-Mycobacterium compounds. Besides that, we are currently testing Ac-204 against Legionella and Herpes virus infections.
